What is GRANDPA LONGBOARDS?
GRANDPA LONGBOARDS is a producer and distributer of superior performing longboards that set new standards for durability, performance, and design. Founded in 2005 only selling boards to friends and neighbors, Grandpa has expanded into the online business selling wheels, bearings, trucks and other longboard accessories.

Why should I buy from you and not another longboard company?
GRANDPA LONGBOARDS ensures that its longboards are effective, reliable and fast. We use high quality materials that are tested by actual skaters. In an industry that too often cuts corners to reduce costs on unreliable, poor quality materials, our research-oriented, testing approach to longboarding set GRANDPA LONGBOARDS miles away from competitors.

Where are your longboard decks made?
GRANDPA LONGBOARDS decks are made in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in San Diego, California. After the manufacturing phase, they are assembled and distributed from GRANDPA LONGBOARDS’s home in Miami, FL.


Directions and Maintenance
Does my longboard work in the rain/water?
Yes, the wheels will spin and the bearings will repel water (depending of the quantity and length of the skating session) but GRANDPA LONGBOARDS highly recommends a cleaning after such use. Skating in the rain can be quite fun if it we not for the hassle of cleaning bearings. Therefore, if you are going to skate in the rain GRANDPA LONGBOARDS recommends you act quickly to clean them afterwards.

How can I increase my speed?
Increasing or at the minimum maintaining your speed can be done by applying longboard lubricate. Lubricant reduces friction and corrosion to your bearings which allows for proper maintenance and many times translating into higher speed. GRANDPA LONGBOARDS offers high quality longboard lubricate under the accessories category in their online store.

When should I clean my bearings?
You should clean your bearings if you notice that you are pushing more but not gaining more speed, if they are making weird sounds, or just seems slow. To avoid getting that point, it is a good idea to keep them clean. One way to help keep them clean is purchasing longboard lubricant. Keeping you bearings clean will prolong the bearing life as well as improving your longboard experience!

I want more flexibility with my carving. Can my trucks be looser?
Yes, your trucks can be looser or tighter depending on your preferred style of skating. To loosen simply twist the kingpin (large bolt that runs through the center of the truck) using your skate tool. If you do not have a skate tool simply find the appropriate size socket wrench and unscrew slightly to the desired location. To tighten, follow the same steps only in reverse order.

GRANDPA LONGBOARDS ensures that its longboards are genuinely effective and reliable by emphasizing sound product research throughout the development process of its longboards decks. Only the best materials – those back by reliable and historical results – are used to produce completes for GRANDPA LONGBOARDS.

How do you know your decks meet sustainability standards?
GRANDPA LONGBOARDS requires that their suppliers adhere and be committed the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI). Additionally, we require that they be Best Management Practices (BMP) certified. This certification is granted only after third-party auditors have verified that these suppliers use forestry techniques that do not harm r pollute surrounding stream, lake, rivers, and the groundwater when harvesting timber.

Do the graphics mean anything?
The graphics found on GRANDPA LONGBBOARDS are very important to us. The process involves design by “communicating” and by “creativity”. Each graphic that we create and place on our longboards represents a colorful and artistic message, many times incorporating our regional identity here in Miami. Our professional artists compose this art by using the latest graphical art software and undergoing numerous concepts and revisions. If you do not have a credit card to order online, most stores will be happy to order GRANDPA for you.

How much do GRANDPA LONGBOARDS’s products cost?
GRANDPA LONGBOARDS’s products cost far less than products sold in brick and mortar shops and high-overhead online stores. Our concentration on efficiency and low overhead give us the flexibility and advantage of selling our products at more economical prices. Once I order, how long will it take for my order to arrive?
Most orders are shipped the next business day. The delivery time depends on which shipping method you choose when placing your order. In the US, allow 3-8 days for UPS Ground, the default method. UPS NextDay and 2ndDay are also available for faster delivery. Delivery to countries outside the United States usually takes about seven (7) days.
